Founder & Chief Executive Officer
William F. "Bill" Smith is President of Infinity Fuel Cell and Hydrogen, Inc., which he established in 2002. Infinity creates differentiated hydrogen-based products bridging two of the world’s hottest investment markets space technology and green renewable energy. Under Mr. Smith’s leadership Infinity has landed contracts and partnerships with NASA, Blue Origin, Axiom Space, the U.S. Navy, and several other major organizations in spacecraft, aircraft and underwater vehicles.
Bill was also a co-founder of Proton Energy Systems, and was part of the management team taking Proton through a successful IPO on the NASDAQ as PRTN in the year 2000.
Before co-founding Proton, he led business development activities for advanced Proton Exchange Membrane products at the Hamilton Standard Division of United Technologies Corporation (now Collins Division of Raytheon Technologies). Prior, Mr. Smith worked as an optical engineer in the Optical Operations Directorate at Perkin Elmer.
Mr. Smith holds 12 patents. He received his undergraduate degree in Physics from the University of Connecticut, and his MBA from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst.
