Bill is the founder of Infinity Fuel Cell and Hydrogen, Inc. starting the company in 2002.

He is also one of the co-founders of Proton Energy Systems. Bill served as Proton’s Vice President of Business Development from the company’s inception in 1996 until leaving to start Infinity in 2002.

From 1986 to 1996, Bill led various business development activities for advanced PEM products at the Hamilton Sundstrand Division of United Technologies Corporation. These included PEM products for commercial, military and NASA applications such as oxygen generators, hydrogen generators and regenerative fuel cells.

He holds numerous patents in the field of PEM technology and actively publishes in the field. Mr. Smith received his undergraduate degree in Physics from the University of Connecticut, and an MBA from the University of Massachusetts.
